Global Wildlife Conservation works with scientists and partners to prevent some of the world’s most threatened species from vanishing forever. GWC employs the industry’s top conservation scientists and enjoys support from celebrities, but the species it protects are not as well known. The organization targets many obscure species who need more study and support—small forest cats rather than lions and tigers, for example. GWC must get people to connect to these species emotionally and understand their critical role in preserving the Earth’s biodiversity.
PLUME SOLUTION:
Since 2018, GWC has hired me to regularly concept and write articles for its blog. The articles require me to interview scientists about their experiences in remote regions that most readers will never visit. I need to paint vivid pictures of each animal’s personality and its struggle for survival, outline the social and environmental factors threatening its habitat, and educate readers about the conservation strategies that GWC and its partners are deploying in the field.
